Role and Reference Grammar (RRG) is a syntactic framework that was developed around 1980 by Robert D. Van Valin, Jr.. Major publications are Foley & Van Valin (1984), Van Valin (ed.) 1993, Van Valin & LaPolla 1997, and Van Valin 2005.
