Leftness condition

Leftness condition is a condition proposed in Chomsky (1976) which states that a pronoun cannot be coindexed with a variable to its right. The Leftness Condition is a condition applied to LF representations, and it rules out configurations that result from raising a QNP (under QR) across a nonc-commanding pronoun (i.e., Weak Crossover configurations).
