Preposition Incorporation is a process by which applied verbs are generated in Baker's (1988) incorporation theory. Baker assumes that applied verbs are derived from a D-structure representation such as (i). The preposition FOR is incorporated into V via Preposition Incorporation:
(i) [VP [V..] [PP [P for] [NP..] ] ] (ii) [VP [V [V..] [P for]i ] [PP [P ei] [NP..] ] ]
